Even in the cold, this dog friendly winter wonderland is something to dream about. After my time in Jackson, I fully support the saying "Take Time with the Tetons"
Started 2019 off in Jackson, Wyoming! Wow, I LOVE this place. If there is a doggy heaven, I hope this is it. Miles and miles of wide open spaces in this state. If you ever end up in this western town, do yourself a favor and stay at the Mountain Modern Motel. The staff gave me all the loves and I got to hang out with my pawrents by the cozy little fireplace in the lounge area. Plus the rooms are the perfect size! The motel is in the center of town and a great location to walk places. Maybe next time we will come in the summer so we can avoid the negative 14 degrees. I like the cold, but I draw the line below zero. WAY TOO COLD.
I also didn’t get to check out any of the dog friendly restaurants or breweries because the patios aren’t open when it’s 0 degrees outside ...who knew? We did get to walk around the town. All the people were so friendly. While we were walking through the shops, I turned the corner, looked up, and found a bear!! (Apparently it wasn’t a real bear, only a chair that looked like a bear but woah I got scared for a second.)

If you get the chance to go in the winter, I am guessing your pawrents are going to want to shred some gnar at one of the best resorts in the US. Lucky for us, Jackson has places for us to hang out while they are on the mountain. Our second day there, I got to play at Dog Jax all day and make some awesome furriends! The space was indoor/outdoor so when it got too cold, I could play inside. I definitely slept good that night!

Besides the historic town, Jackson is surrounded by endless natural beauty. The Teton Mountains are breathtaking and should be on everyone’s bucket list. One of the parks just outside of town has a path that runs along the Snake River with the Tetons as the backdrop. The views are impressive no matter which way you look. Jackson Hole has started an initiative to limit geotagging in an attempt to preserve lands. You might notice all my photos from this area are located at ‘Tag Responsibly, Keep Jackson Hole Wild’. While this might not make it as easy to capture that exact photo, there are stunning photo opportunities all around. Can’t wait to go back for more adventures!
